GlauCoin was born from a personal journey and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of those affected by glaucoma. As a person living with congenital glaucoma, I have experienced firsthand the challenges this condition brings—ongoing treatments, surgeries, and the constant risk of irreversible blindness. Despite advancements in medical treatments, glaucoma remains the leading cause of preventable blindness worldwide, and much work remains to be done.
Our mission with GlauCoin is simple: to harness the power of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to raise awareness, fund critical research, and develop new treatment methodologies for glaucoma.
Why GlauCoin?
Glaucoma affects millions of people worldwide, robbing them of their sight and quality of life. The therapies available have stagnated, and many individuals are left facing a future with little hope for improved treatment options. The most common employment opportunities for those who lose their vision are limited to low-skill jobs like telephone operators or massage therapists. This situation severely impacts self-esteem, mental health, and overall well-being.
We believe that through education, retraining, and innovation, people with glaucoma can continue to contribute meaningfully to society. GlauCoin aims to raise funds for training programs, research, and new initiatives that can offer practical solutions to improve the lives of people with glaucoma.
